Reading Please ensure your child has their reading book and record in school every day. As well as this, please record any reading you do with your child at home so that they can earn star points. We encourage that your child read at home as regularly as possible and any type of reading is appropriate e.g. newspapers, magazines, cereal boxes, books from home, school reading book, library book etc. Children will receive a star point each time they read to an adult among other motivations we have in place. Home learning Home learning will be set every Wednesday. Children will have a number of essential tasks to complete including Maths, English and one cross-curricular piece each week. It is expected that children complete and return their homework every Monday. Children are also expected to practice their spellings ready for our weekly Friday tests.
Snack In Year 5, children have the opportunity to enjoy two digestive biscuits and a cup of squash. This is at a cost of 25p per day (£1.25 each week).
PE Year 5 have PE on Thursdays. We recommend for you to send your child into school with their PE kits on Monday, to be taken home on Friday. This will ensure your child will be able to take part in any spontaneous sporting opportunities.
