Please ensure your child has their reading book and record in school every day. As well as this, please record any reading you do with your child at home so that they can earn star points. We encourage that your child read at home as regularly as possible and any type of reading is appropriate e.g. newspapers, magazines, cereal boxes, books from home, school reading book, library book etc. Children will receive a star point each time they read.
They will also receive a raffle ticket each time they read at home and a prize draw will take place every Friday afternoon.
Home learning will be set every Tuesday. Each half term, children will either be given a choice base project homework, or a series of weekly Maths and Literacy based activities to complete. They will also have a set of weekly spellings to practise ready for their spelling test, which will take place on Tuesday mornings.
All homework will be due in on Tuesday’s to be checked for completion and marked.
In Year 3, children have the opportunity to enjoy two digestive biscuits and a cup of squash. This is at a cost of 25p per day (£1.25 each week).
Year 3 have PE on Fridays. We recommend for you to send your child into school with their PE kits on Monday, to be taken home on Friday. This will ensure your child will be able to take part in any spontaneous sporting opportunities.
